Low energy medicine
For combating low energy, doctors prescribe high dose (injectible) B12 and NADH. Next step is considered Wellbutrin (a dopamine agonist) or a non-sedating Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI, like Prozac, Zoloft, Celexa, Effexor). The best therapy remains low doses of CNS stimulants like methylphenidate (Ritalin), dexamphetamine (Dexedrine or Adderall), and modafinil (Provigil). Provigil not only improves fatigue (alertness), but also somnolence, mental clarity, attention deficits, and depression, presenting minimal effect on the cardiovascular system.
Intracellular magnesium, whole body potassium, intracellular ATP, glutathione, taurine, serine, and the short-chain fatty acids such as valine, leucine, and isoleucine, coenzyme Q10 may help decrease fatigue.
